It looks hot in that Oregon desert. And very dry, too. The shade provided by the tree is a refreshing shadow that convinces us that a stop under it is a refreshing stop. Not much shade otherwise on that trail...
I love how Trux is resting in the shade. At least Trux is still standing. My dog often plops herself down in the shade to rest on our long walks. And I have to wait...and wait...and wait...
In answer to your question about whether I was awake when you left that comment - Er no. It was about 6 or 7 am. I was still noddyland! I actually schedule to SSS posts to publish at 12am Sunday so I don't need to wake up early to do it. I like my Sunday sleep-ins! :D

No worries. It was bright and sunny, but only 55 degrees! Not hot at all.
