Wolf on the trail

"The wolf is neither man's competitor nor his enemy. He is a fellow creature with whom the earth must be shared."

~ L. David Mech

On last Thursday's hike, my family met a wolf. A rescue animal; one of the most beautiful creatures my husband had ever seen.

I love the way she blends into the rock wall.

  2. Oh wow...really beautiful. We went to see Zoo Lights last Friday and got there at dusk and the wovles in the park were howling.

  4. Beautiful. We live nearby a wolf sanctuary... filled with rescued wolves and dedicated volunteers. My Aunt is a real lover of wolves, and we recently took her there. It was amazing to see the individuality of each wolf... both in appearance and personality. They are amazing animals.

  5. Majestic, aren't they? There was a really nice scene at the end of Fantastic Mr. Fox that resonates with your admiration.

  7. Absolutely GORGEOUS creature.... I haven't ever seen a wolf (to my knowledge) and it's great that you were that close and saw that someone cared enough to adopt him/her. Thank you for posting the beautiful photo... that intensely auburn colored hood against the almost blue-green rocks. I hear National Geographic calling ;-)

  8. He's stunning! That shot with the rock couldn't have turned out better even if it was planned.
