The power of paint

Just back from the Bay area. A trip to visit friends and check on the progress of Teresa's kitchen make-over.

Cheerful paint can do wonders to transform a room.
Next step: decoupaging maps onto the cabinet doors.

I also attended the White Elephant Sale; a fund raiser for the Oakland Museum. The line to get in was over 2 1/2 blocks long...this photo was taken as we neared the entrance.

An extremely well organized jumble sale.

  3. Color really does make a world of difference. The decoupage idea is a good one, I can't wait to see the outcome!

A White Elephant Sale! Now that is my kinda fun...Joe would be so un-excited about it.

  6. The Oakland Museum White Elephant sale is fantastic fun! I've picked up some great stuff there: my nightstand and a great set of Dorothy Thorpe vintage dishes (12 settings, 7 pieces each AND 2 serving bowls and cream and sugar for... $200! yeah it was missing a couple of pieces, so what?) to name a couple.

And, your friend's kitchen looks great!

  7. Being a map girl, this is fab! I am collecting old school roller maps to use on my sun porch, only 7 more to go!

  10. welcome back. I see you decided that the maps are going on the cabs instead of the walls. Hope it turns out well.

  12. Where were you in the Bay Area (I grew up in San Rafael)? Were you designing this from afar? Do tell us more.
