The front door is inset...making the room a little strange. In trailerland, there was a small wall to the right of the door: We removed it because it made no sense to me:
OK, WHERE did you get that door?? I"ve been dying for something simple with a nice light. The front of my house is like a cave! I will probably want to paint it though- the wood won't work in the foyer.

We bought the door through Building Solutions in Bend, Oregon. Had a bit of a time with the sales rep who repeatedly told me I didn't want a single light, rather a door with 6 panes as that was what everyone bought. Grrrr. I know what I want, thank you very much! Still not happy with the staining. It's actually mottled looking even though I used a "wood conditioner". I may end up painting it afterall....But really, the thought of more painting absolutely paralyzes me (which is why the trim is still unpainted).
I love your house, it looks gorgeous, especially the lovely creamy coloured walls. It looks so warm now compared to the before picture. I hope your grandmother's memorial went well. : )
I see a mission style door and I love it! And I love the paint color too! I think that's about the shade i'm going for in my craft room when we move... and in general, I just LOVE your style! I've said it before and I'll say it again!! I love it!! You inspire me, I can't wait to move! ♥
I like those chairs, too! Bought the pair of them at a garage sale for $100. The lady wanted to know if I was going to recover them. Ummmm.....No! The brocade is in mint condition...love that shade of green
Is the door a current model? I have had a lot of dealings with door people when I redid my upstairs. It's amazing how they think they know exactly what you want even tho you insist on something else. What, do they get kickbacks or something for buying bland doors?
I'd love that door in white- real cottage-y. The single light is AMAZING. Just what I want. If you have a manufacturer name, please let me know!

Definitely a good move, taking down that wall. Much better flow and light. Your house looks beautiful, a real home sweet home.
