Sometimes I don't want to read the news

Today I read of a plane crash in Oregon. A small plane left the Salem airport this morning and crashed outside of Albany. Three people were killed. Then I read the names of the people who owned the plane...oh SHIT...I know these people.

The tears are instant...I'm still grieving for my grandmother and this is too much. I start making phone calls to find out more. I can't imagine the grief in store for these families.

I am so sorry for the loss of these men and the sadness for their families and friends like you. The helplessness you feel; especially after the fact, when there is literally nothing you can do, is hard to bear.
My dad had a little Cessna when I was a kid, and I would beg and beg to go flying. I would live in the air, if I could. My mom was always a nervous wreck until he and I were back home. Fun day for us, not so much for her. Now, as an adult and moreover a parent, I understand that the risk is always there.
I hope you will feel that these men were having fun, enjoying each other's company and that this was an instant departure.
My sympathies, C.
Love,
