Decoupaging gone awry

I have a vintage hand mirror/brush set that has rust spots on the back not so pretty....
So I thought I'd use this cool paper, and cover the backs so the rust wouldn't show
I forgot that I can't seem to get the hang of no bubbles while decoupaging....
Dang nabbit!

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but I can't see any!

Bubbles create a nice texture anyways. What would softdrink (or soda from your parts?) be without bubbles. Boring!

You did a great job. They are really beautiful.

great idea, can't tell about the execution. But I hate when what I have in my head doesn't match the result in front of me.

I've never decoupaged.. can you believe it? I have tons of cigar boxes with big plans. Can you redo it? How permanent is the paper once on?

Well, if nothing else, it's prettier than rust!

Wow very nice paper, is the text embossed? I love it!

Oh man I can't even see the bubbles! They look just fine from the view I'm seeing.

However, I know how it feels to try something and have it not work out. I wasted some wire on some rings last night; even though I think they could be OK, they're just not how I pictured them. So frustrating!

I think you should keep up with these, though...they're absolutely gorgeous!

I'm not sure if I can redo it...will the paper come off if I soak it?

The paper is embossed...the words are written in French

That paper is beautiful! I'm betting you could soak the mirrors and the paper would come off so you could try again... I don't know, though!

Such a great idea! The possibilities are endless when it comes decoupage. I think they look lovely, can't notice any bubbles over here!

All decoupage should have bubbles, it gives the item character. Had that been my project they would have turned out a complete disaster. I think they look fantastic! The paper is perfect, too!

They look great!

If the paper is embossed it might be hard to avoid bubbles. But once you lay the paper down try smoothing it with a bone folder or the back of a spoon, working from the inside to the outside edges.

yeah...I smoothed, smoothed, smoothed for a 15 minutes at least....aarrrgghhhh!
