A Distraction

Just in case you need a distraction, Baldylocks and Skully came up with a way to keep their minds off waiting....they will be making robot type things and posting up images on their blogs. They've invited everyone to join in the fun. So I did...here's my little guy:

The body is part of the inside of a clock, the head a wooden finial with a glass cap perched on top. I made the arms out of broken bits from these metal trim pieces:

Check out this post for more info...and have fun!

He's great! You need to make a little army of them.. maybe a few that can help out with yard work, too!

he is adorable! although I like the idea of an army of them, I'm also respectfully wary of armies of robots. Just make sure he knows who's boss.

so cute, he needs a girlfriend though. I don't get the sense that he's a military guy.

I have boxes of machine parts and wood scraps. It would be fun to dump them out with the kiddos and have a robot making party!

Fascinating - but what is it?
As regards dinner companions
I'd invite Jane Austen, George Elliot,
me
Charles Lamb
T.E.Lawrence
and W.G. Sebald.
I would probably bore all the others to death........

Of course I forgot Oscar Wilde.
Probably one of the wittiest people ever.
Also an amazing writer.

For those who want to delve a little further into the world of robots .., have you heard of Honda's Asimo. Pretty remarkable really: http://www.world.honda.com/ASIMO/

I love your robot! Will it count if I wrap One of the cats in tin foil? I don't have to many metal bits hanging around here..

I saw some funny looking robots in a store the other day made out of recycled computer innards. As cool as they were I have to say your little guy is cuter! I think it's his big round head that appeals to me. I have a thing for big round heads...

"When the Robots come, and they WILL come...." Love your robie. Name please? Too much Lost In Space, me thinks. Nice head gear. Didn't know you had this ability with parts; N.A.S.A should be calling any day now...
