Well...hello!

Turning around and having deer a few feet away from you is a bit startling. There were 6 of them in the backyard, but only 3 in this shot.

We had a group of 5 deer who frequented our yard/salad bar in Silverton, but the deer here get so close to the house!

"The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for white, or women created for men."

I like your furry friends. The front one looks as though he was enjoying having his photo taken.

Hey, it seems almost every blog I've looked at so far today features YOU! Photos of your adorable creations, awards given to you etc...Wow! Congrats! Go Diva!

Boy, they do get close. It reminds me of uncle's house in the backwoods of Virginia. They get mighty close there, but I'm not sure if they get that close.

We used to keep whole kernel corn on hand to feed them :) Some of them will almost eat it out of your hand! I had to stop because I found out that some of our neighbors were shooting them during hunting season--the deer are so tame, they would walk right up to the hunters! Since our cougar has been hanging around, our deer population has been declining. I really miss seeing them, but at least the neighborhood hunters are getting them either.

Happily there isn't ANY hunting allowed where we live. Yay!

Glad to hear that they can not be hunted, that would be so sad :(
