Hammock

After reading a post about hammocks on Rayela's Fiber Focus, I finally decided it was time I had one. Ideally, I'd prefer one like this:

Practicality took over and I ordered this one instead:

But I'll envision myself spending time reading in the summer breeze, looking like her:

Both vintage images found here

hahaha...you sassy little hammock vixen! I love the multi-striped. The only way to do a hammock though is with a tropical beverage in at least ONE of your hands!

Love the victorian ones too! Glad you found yourself a modern day one though and bought it. I found a great cot at a yard sale but now I'm thinking a hammock is a good idea too.

I have always adored hammocks and never actually had one of my own. Yours looks perfect. We want to see a pic of you in your new one after it arrives! ;)

Summer and hammocks go hand in hand. Your choice is so cheerful..I imagine it will do a lovely job of brightening up a nice shady spot in the yard.

I have wanted a hammock forever...I have visions of B and I under a shade tree, in a hammock reading books. Thanks for conjuring up those thoughts today.

Lovely pictures! We had a hammock in our yard for years, till the weather got the best of it. Loved it! Time to get another, I think.

Loving the vintage hammock pics---so sweet!

But I must say, your choice is gorgeous, very smart with the stripes.

Happy hammocking!

Beware of the hammock...it's a trap! :o) I find that once I get in ours, I will lay there for hours and hours. I would probably never get up if I had a tasty beverage/food stand next to me. lol

Good for you!
I have always wanted a hammock, too.
(Why have I denied myself this simple pleasure, I now wonder...)
Enjoy!

I love all three for all three of the houses I have (just teasing). I was at the flea market a couple weeks ago and we were thinking a hammock was very much in need as a staple for our space! Nice entry - thank you!

I have a few hammocks, all of them from the Mexican Hammock company. They are the kind you lay across rather than along, so they are more stable and you cam lay flatter in them. I find them more comfortable than the length wise ones.
