Out on a rim

Last night, we found this great piece of property for sale. 6 acres on the Crooked River Canyon rim! So gorgeous.

It already has a well and power installed....

The best thing about this piece of rim property is one can actually see the river. So often this isn't the case.

Curiosity got the best of me, so I found the listing online when we got home. Shows how the prices have dropped in the year or so since we've been looking. Seems to me this would have been listed much higher last year.
Anyone want to build on the rim?

Looks lovely but very remote. If you dropped off the rim & into the river nobody would hear you scream...

PS- that 'shakadal' comment above may be legit, but I've seen a few very much like that & they have been spammy virus thingies.

Amazingly this property is in a housing development...the largest in Oregon.

Houses on both sides of the property as well as a couple across the canyon.

Not so remote.

Gorgeous! I am shocked that one can buy such pristine beauty for the same price that a mini-Mcmansion in a sardine packed development goes for around here.

I have a problem with heights..Love your pictures, but looking at them from my computer, so I do well.

Victoria...of course, one would still have to build the house here...but much better than a McMansion (they give me the willies)

That is cheap as chips! I wish I could buy it because I would. It's just beautiful. Heck. Who needs a house?! With those views you could stay in a tent. lol.

Looks great (how lucky you are in America to have such, big open spaces - over here in the UK we are all jam-packed like sardines ..)

You say prices there have dropped. In the UK they were increasing at 10% a month or something, at the boom. Prices are now declining at something like 2% a month now (something that people here thought would never happen).

Holy gorgeous location Batman! Wow, are you guys thinking of finishing up the landscaping & selling your own gold mine to head off to the rim yourselves? I can not believe this is part of a housing development. What an awesome place to call home :~)

Certainly water view property is my ideal...the rim, a bonus.

I can't quite get up enough enthusiasm to move again though. Last year wiped me out.

Amazing view! but like Heyharriet, will be having thoughts of taking a walk & dropping off the rim. I do love canyons though. We're going to Bryce Canyon this summer!

hi there, wow..is it too far from main town or civilization? looks stunning to me..maybe a bit too far for me to stay there hehehehe :)

Only about 4 miles to the nearest town, which is, admittedly, small.
Gas, groceries, post office, school and a handful of other businesses.

I would live there in a MINUTE. Oh my god that is so beautiful. I'm due for another trip out west; the climate and the landscape helps my health AND my chi in general. We haven't hit that area yet; this photo makes me want to go NOW.

I'm IN! Oh, wait, does that mean I have to move again? Forget it. I'm sick of packing and moving.

Wow! How incredibly beautiful is that piece of land! I'm just discovering your blog. I love the geography out there - very different than the east coast. Love your photos - I'll check back!
