Rock, and more rock

We spent the weekend moving rock. Put in a dry creekbed...
(we're still waiting to be able to plant...still freezing at night....maybe another two weeks)

then we salvaged this trailer load of rock (approximately 2500 pounds) to use as a path.

This is how the rock looks installed at our friend's house. (the path will be awesome) The rock we salvaged was in the throw-away pile. Unbelievable.

I'm tired.

I can't wait to see your job finished! It is going to be awesome!!! "Throwing away" rocks is a funny idea to me. (Don't throw away too many...we won't have any ground left to stand on!) I guess I'm in a silly mood today. I know you will make wonderful use of them.

As someone who loves digging, what a great way of spending the weekend (good exercise too, out in fresh air ..).. Hope you feeling OK, though - didn't over do it.

And good luck with the job overall ..

Where are you putting your new hot tub?!

Oh...a hot tub would be nice for this sore, old body!

Doing ok, overall.

Need to wash another side to the house and then paint...home improvement is never ending.

I love rocks! ;) I can relate to how tired you are - we just installed granite in our back yard ourselves a couple weekends ago and I made a river run out of riprap. Fun times, but oh so exhausting.
Feel well - look forward to seeing the completing of your work!

...and you should be tired! I am really loving reading your posts and seeing all of these photos of your house and your progress. It makes me want to go do a big project on my home!! Alas, my husband is working 7 days a week right now, and I need his help for a lot of it, so I'll need to wait for about 3-4 more weeks.

I am proud of you for finishing your painting of the front of your house - it looks great!

That is a beautiful fireplace.

Looking forward to see what magic you will create out of it..

Sending "Rub A5-35 wishes" to your tired and sore muscles after all that hauling and hard work!

That sounds like dirty back breakin' work! Can't wait to see the end result! We'd pay a fortune for rocks like that over here at a landscape supplies place. That's a super score!

hi, I've just been catching up, you have been busy! The front of your house looks great all painted, the colour looks wonderful. And all those rocks must have been such hard work, great to rescue them from the pile though. I think you deserve a rest today!
: )

wow...lots and lots of hard work but I am sure it will all be worth it, cant wait to see the final results. Are you going to plant lots of flowers there? Is the weather permitting, because everyone seems to be having some post on flowers for spring, or they have a whole bush of lavender and roses, all i do is look at my poor neglected garden.

That fireplace is pretty freaking amazing!

YAHOO!!! Wow, I can not tell you how much you are my recycle/reuse/repurpose inspiration! Those rocks are going to be fabulous for a path and you saved them from being thrown away. Now it is true rocks will eventually go back into the Earth but why waste anyway? Beautiful! Looking forward to seeing the plantings in a few weeks :)

Lucky you! I love working with rock! Your home/land is looking so nice! I would love to have a house big enough for a fireplace like that! LOL
