Simple lines

Seventeen years ago, I received three white ironstone pitchers as wedding shower gifts and a collection was born. We bought an antique pitcher on our honeymoon, adding our style to the mix. Every addition since, has been an antique.

Even though I stopped adding to the collection years ago (really, how many pitchers does one need?) I still love the simple lines, variety of shapes and overall look. Plus, they're damn handy when one needs a vase.

There are others that aren't shown here...our house in the desert doesn't have the same display area as our former cottage.

What a wonderful collection! I love the simplicity of ironstone also.

Isn't it sort of bittersweet when we stop adding to our collections of things we so coveted. Being able to appreciate it's beauty and walk away is a strength in character...OK, maybe the tears give it away...us antiquers are a fool hardy bunch aren't we...s

Your pitchers are lovely. A nice collection. I see you also have a real fondness for wooden spoons!

Beautiful collection. Those would be gorgeous to paint. (using them as models... not painting on them!)

You should be proud of this collection; not only is it beautiful but it was borne from one of the happiest days of your life; your wedding. Thanks for sharing with us; and I like the kitchen utensils use!

Lovely collection! I have a few myself. I was heartbroken when I dropped my lovely white McCoy last month and broken it to smitherines.

I had a lot of entries to catch up on! I love the rock (and the fireplace that rejected it). Great pitcher collection too.

I LOVE your pitchers... we should have a cream ware duel! I see your creamy curvy handled one and raise you my creamy larger curvy handled one! Ha! Your new home will be as wonderful as the Silverton cottage. You'll see. Just time to make it "Diva's place" and it will be fine. You give everything your special touch and the home you're in now is certainly no exception.

I agree with Chris Stone - these would be very fun to do paintings of. They are lovely together.

So clean and simple but a bold statement when brought together. Where do you display these ones? Love that your Etsy find of the day is also a white pitcher with a fun line :~)

They are beautiful! I think you should keep on collecting them and hand over these sweeties to me.

I love me a good simple collection. These white beauties are so clean and pretty. And, yes having a dual purpose is a wonderful perk.
