This week's challenge from Autonomous Artisans is trees. I never got around to creating anything so I took some pictures instead.
This juniper tree is very much alive...and growing sideways.

Vintage tree oil paintings in our hallway...
And (this is a bit of a stretch for the challenge...but hey! there are trees in the picture) I finished painting the front of the house. I might change the trim color though...from chocolate brown to mustard as the brown doesn't show up too well (around the windows). Still pondering...

That tree is really interesting..
The gallery is lovely..
The tree is so interesting! You would think it would break from being at such an extreme angle.
the tree is cool, but I love the house more. I note that most houses (apart from Asia) are always on its own, over here majority of the people lived in rows of houses or we call them terrace houses. Only the wealthier ones live in bungalows with big lands or houses (many still) on stilts or 3 feet above the grounds in villages. Love the house colour, really refreshing.
Happy weekend to you :)
OOOh that juniper tree is very cool. It's amazing how some trees just continue to grow under any conditions. I found an interesting flickr group today. It's dedicated to trees eating things. Take a look here.
That Juniper tree is so cool and I love how you arranged your paintings!
wow @ sideways tree.
I love your use of quotes on your blog.
Love love LOVE junipers. AND the front of your house is beautiful! I like the brown, but the yellow will definitely add nice contrast. I have almost the same color scheme going on in my kitchen and I'm very fond of it.
I love seeing where people live--your "estate" looks so idyllic. Great tree picture!
i love the colours of your house now, so uniquely wicked!
Aaarrrhhh! I see yer boat's docked for the day.... why so sad, little Pirate Lass? Be thar no wind fer yer sails? No problems, girl. Come get aboard The Lady of The Sea, and we'll take her for a spin to Tortuga.... Duty-free shopping and all the rum a girl can down!
xoxo
Karen Pirate for a Day....
The house looks fantastic. Will you paint the railings too?
Juniper trees are so neat! :)
In Aruba there is a tree that grows bent, from the constant trade winds. It's called the divi-divi tree. Your tree is amazing.
The house looks terrific, I know it must have been a lot of hard work; so here is a pat on the back for you...
Very clever of you to take the photo of the grouped paintings "in the mirror". Nice artistic touch.
Andria-that Flickr link is very cool
Michelle-no, we're not going to paint the railing, but we will be re-staining the whole deck/railing
Lavinia-thanks
That is a *great* Alice Walker quote.
Your house looks great! I have about 1/3 of mine done. The lower story, guess I will solve the dilemma of the second story when I get that far.
That tree is very impressive. It looks like it's sleeping. The house looks great, love the colours!
The house is looking great, such a fab colour.
thanks for the picture of the tree, i love the way nature always finds its way toward the light even if the route it takes is a little unexpected.
LOVE the house! It turned out so well! With all the beautiful plantings you are going to do it will have a very Frank Lloyd Wright feel. I agree on the brown trim, kind of fades away.
Great Juniper, how wild! Love the oil painting pic angle, you are so clever girl :)
Wow I love that tree! :)
Wonderful! Will you come and paint mine next?
