Vintage Lights

When we remodeled last year, we bought some cheap, temporary lights for the living room & family room. Temporary until I could find some vintage fixtures to replace these boring, big box store fixtures. Yuck.

The time has come: $25 Art Deco light for the living room courtesy Craigslist

$15 second hand store glass shade...Mark put this light together out of a stash of pieces I've been hoarding for just such a reason

We brought this light with us when we moved from our old house...I just couldn't leave it behind! I found this at a second hand store, complete with hand blown glass shade, for $15

And this little nautical number...$8 at the Habitat for Humanity resale shop...a fresh coat of white paint...perfect for the (beachy) guest bath

Those are amazing fixtures! Another great job. It's been a challenge to find something cool and unique for my baby's room- so I've got a crappy IKEA thing going on and it's not even complete. I wish I had time to scour the world of antiques til I found a treasure like these! (and then find a handy person to rewire them, too!)

We had a few of those little nautical lights a few years back. I ended up having to replace them because they were such a pain to change the bulbs.

Love, love, love your vintage ones!

Love the fixtures, we have the same one featured in the last photo but the metal on ours is black.

I came her via MKate although I'm a native Oregonian, LOL!

I have a thang for old lights too, maybe it's that they don't have that 'Made in China' look, know what I mean...

I especially love the third one!!
We really need to replace our current light fixture in our kitchen, as I think it looks like a giant breast!

Wow those are all so pretty! I broke a lovely blue glass shade that was here when we bought our house. I was going to fix it with glue, but someone threw the piece away - I'm kicking myself for that!

Beautiful fixtures--I especially like that second one. I have one nice art nouveau chandelier and the rest of ours are boring (but what I'm really looking for now is some interesting lamps).

Your design work is truly inspiring. The nautical light in the beach bath is so perfect my jealousy of your ingenuity is growing by the minute lol! All are gorgeous!
