Bits of ephemera

My friend Karen sent me these vintage labels...I need to get inspired! What to do, what to do...

This fun piece of vintage shelf paper is all I have left. I used part of the package for the original purpose...lining shelves. I've also made greeting cards with the Scottie dog border as trim. What would you do with it?

It's so fun to see what inspires you. If I had a piece of the doggy border, I would dress up the top edge of my cork board, which should be cleaned up into an inspiration board of sorts.

Hmmm. Mixed media collage of some sort maybe? Grab your acrylics, an old piece of plywood and some of your travel photos and have at it. I bet you will come up with something phenomenal :)

I love vintage labels. i LOVE the old produce crate labels. Those are some of my favorites! I dont have any beverage labels though.

shelf paper suggestions: If you scrapbook you could use that as a trim.
Or make some long wooden magnets, seal it with resin or epoxy.

Love the lables! Nothing in my house is safe from being turned into a magnet, lol, but for labels I typically try to make cards. Although "try" is the operative word here, I haven't mastered this :-)

My husband's office is our home gallery, where we make all sorts of campy, quirky collages and paintings and hang 'em proud. Do you have a room like this? If so I say mixed media something; kitsch and fun. Eveytime I see pics of your house though, it's so pretty and classy, where does one put a crazy little collage? Well, have fun.

I would decorate little white paper bakery bags with it and fill them with homemade shortbread.

This is coming from my totally non-creative, inexperienced mind... but could you turn the lables into coasters of some kind? or maybe seal them in resin somehow and hang them (and other similar items of different sizes) from a tree? Not a real tree but one that's small with just branches on a table? It's hard to tell how big the lables are though, so that might not work. I don't know if I'm making any sense..LOL

I recently picked up a few paper mache boxes that I could decoupage and make trinket/keepsake type boxes with... that's all that comes to mind at the moment...

like a re-purposed cigar box or something, I dunno... my brain is mush today.

Hmmmm.... Diva uninspired?! I don't think so... must be a slow day in the 'think tank' of Charmaine. Hope you have fun with the odd paper; there's more where that came from, when you're ready :-) (Book your backhoe rental now!)

Love the labels but I have no idea what to do with them. You're clever & creative so I'm sure you'll think of something :)
