Custom cover

I bought some of Cicada Studio's yummy fabric. The Queen Anne's Lace pattern. Love it! I had intended to make a pillow, but then I received one of those promotional date books from some company hoping I would do business with them. I could order a hundred (or a thousand) of these books, and have my business name put on the front cover and then give them as complimentary gifts to my clients. Yeah right. This book had an image of two men rock climbing on the slick, shiny cover. The date book I could use....the cover had to go.

Fabric available here

First I took the staples out of the book, then cut the fabric slightly larger than the cover using pinking shears. Finally, I glued the the edges to the inside of the cover.

Ta da!  I like this sooooo much better!

I love this! Thanks for the tutorial and great idea for usage of Michelle's fabric. Since I can't sew, this may be something I can handle and adore her designs. Yay!

Awesome! And, no sewing necessary...now you're talking. I'm all over anything that can be glued.

It's so nice to see projects made from my fabric- to know that you'll use it and see it daily... it's really a warm feeling. Thanks for sharing your work! It came out great.
