I've got Boardwalk

I noticed this picture on Nuvonova's blog and was immediately transported back to my childhood.  (For some reason, I cannot get this to hyperlink....check my left side bar for Nuvonova's link.)

My sisters and I spent a lot of time playing Monopoly...

I always chose the car as my game piece...it was the coolest.

How cute are those jewelry pieces? I love the Monopoly Man pendant.

I always used the dog piece.

What cute jewelry..I have to admit..hubby and I played that game when we were first married..I never played it with him again..He wouldn't sell any property to me and I called him a cheat..We still laugh about it.

Monopoly is a game I never used to be very good at but I think over time I better understood the concept of the strategy of it all and now Matt is toast when we play heehee. He is the banker, I am the real estate agent. Funny thing though, we only have The Lord of the Rings Monopoly (I pick the Gandalf piece). In the original version of the game I was always the hat :)

Our Monopoly set only had odd wooden shapes to glide around the board with. But we usually only played when we went to friends houses...my lil' brother was not a very good team player, he cheated and threw fits (and usually the board)...he's still a brat to this day. I wanted to trade him for a sister sooo bad!

That will be my next venture, soldered charms, I just love the look they give to a piece.

Those are great! And especially fitting in today's financial climate. That last one with the monopoly man shrugging his shoulders could be any one of the wall streeters that refuse to recognize their place in this debacle.

I'm a thimble gal. Still am. And what was great, is I never had to fight anybody for it!

Nichole,

So, so true!

My least favorite game of all time. I'm not very good at strategic planning. I'm more of a Clue gal or Trivial Pursuit. I generally chose the hat as my game piece, although I'd just become frustrated and quit. I was still an only child back then, my dad and Holly Hobbie didn't really make much of a fuss.

Ooh I didn't recognise my own item for a second then haha! I love the cufflinks, my brother would love those.. I might just have to get them..

i didn't so much enjoy playing the game as i did watching others do so. but the lil plastic houses were always fun to play with for some reason. i'd gather up a bunch and shake 'em in my hand for a cheap thrill.

I loved the shoe.

That's funny because I liked the shoe, too! But usually got stuck with the dumb iron.

Hi and Happy Fall, and regarding Joy: No Charmaine, you know Joy better than that! Look close, she actually DID glue those little ice cream wooden spoons on a barrel!
As my Grandson would say "Oh my gosh, You gotta be KIDDIN' ME!"

Hugs and Get ahold of yourself, JOY!

I was never much of a Monopoly player, so I don't really have a fave piece. I was always more of a scrabble type :)
