Tags and awards

Last week, not only was I tagged, but I was also honored to receive two blog awards.

The first was from Lisa B's Retro Style. Lisa's focus is salvaging, re-purposing and re-selling vintage items. Always fun to see what she's found, and what she's created. Thanks for the Blogging Friends Forever award!

The second award was from Jane of Picciolo. Jane makes felt boxes, ornaments, pouches and recently, baby booties. Bright punches of color and charming artwork distinguish her pieces.

The "Friendship Around the World Award" highlights blogs that are special in some way and extends the hand of friendship around the world. This is truly what blogging has become for me...thanks Jane!

And now for the tag! Judi tagged me...here are 7 random facts about me:

I always have my toe nails painted, but never my finger nails

The beach is one of my favorite places to be

I can sew, but it makes me very cranky, so I wisely refrain from doing so

I'm enjoying my forties...I'm much more confident (finally)

Crowds bother me...

Freshly brewed coffee is one of my favorite smells

I'm very opinionated...I try not to offer unsolicited advice, but when asked...look out!

Congrats on your awards! Oh yes, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee is the best! I find it odd that you can sew but it makes you cranky. Weirdo ;)

congratulations on your other award! Your tags made me smile, its always nice to learn a little more about someone, but why does sewing make you cranky??
: )

Oh...the sewing! Needles breaking, tension, thread knots, etc. I don't do well with machines and usually end up throwing things across the room.

I'm very relaxed when sewing by hand...

Congrats on the much deserved awards! As for your list, I am with you 100% on every point, (even the toenails over the fingernails!) with the exception of sewing, (unless it is sewing clothes. Yes, clothes sewing makes me very cranky!)

The sewing comment made me laugh out loud. I still have yet to make friends with the machine. I'll keep trying til one of us doesn't make it!

Wow...we have a lot in common...especially that last one. I've been really working on the "try no to" part...lol! In the midwest we call advice...solicited or not...being helpful?! Hard habit to break!!

Congrats on your awards :D

Congratulations on the awards, and thanks for being a good sport and playing along with the "tagging"; such fun to learn things about the people we "know" via the web. Coffee brewing is a great scent - but usually smells better than it tastes.
Peace, Judi

What exactly IS the point of getting one's nails done? It renders me completely useless so I don't ruin the pretty polish.

congrats! well deserved,

ironically sewing can make me cranky as well, ha!

I am so behind on your blog yikes!

Congrats on such amazing awards, well deserved indeed :)

Great random facts and I actually agree with you on everything but the 40's comment...although I am really happy in my mid 30's so I think that will maintain for the next 5 years and beyond. Sewing makes me cranky too but on days when it goes well the final product makes me so happy to see completed that all that swearing and throwing of fabric seems to fall away :) Sewing by hand however makes me nuts all the time!

Have you tried your hand at quilting?
