Pet adoption

Will they ever be friends?

We adopted Trux exactly one month ago much to Cammie's dismay. The first week, she was terrified. The second week she spent much of her time hissing at him. Last week, she swiped his nose, claws extended, for no reason at all.

This is as close as I've seen them...Cammie playing with her catnip toy, obviously in a state of delirium. Trux, as usual, could care less what she's doing.

Maybe we need to rent Milo and Otis to show Cammie that cats and dogs can be friends...

Oh, these big loveable working breeds, they have a job and it just isn't chasing cats...how mundane...now Scratchy-aka-cat killer, would be on your kitty faster than flies on cow pies...the race would be on!

I would love to have a cat again, but alas, the Queen rules...and rules are rules! (says she who rules)

I LUV your dog!

What a cute pup!

I have two cats... Brutus has been with me for over 8 years and Cassie just came to live with us recently. It's a love/hate thing still.

I can't wait until they get to the point of not hissing/shrieking/scratching at each other at 4 am... On the foot of the bed...... *sigh*

Good luck with them watching the movie all the way through... You might need something stronger than the nip for that.

Hello
I can't believe I've never been on your blog. I see where you always leave Sharon comments, so I clicked on to see your blog! I'm so excited that you live in a mobile home, me to! I love it and wouldn't trade it for a house that cost a million dollars! I am adding you to my favorite list.

I love the Milo and Otis Movie! We used to watch it all the time when the girls were little. I predict that in time, Trux and Cammie will be come best of buddies! One of my favorite old children's books is "Angus and the Cat" by Marjorie Flack. It deals with just what you have described, but in the end all turns out well!

Awww Cats and Dogs getting along. I'm sure that they're just vying for seniority. I have a feeling that Trux could care less where he falls in the order of things, it seems to be a priority for Cammie though. I'm sure it'll work out though.

They'll be cuddling in no time!

"We're gonna take a walk outside today, gonna take a walk outside today..." and off they go on another adventure of dog and cat friends in the movies. I also have a beautiful group of young dogs and one female cat, Junie. She is brave, clever and strategic, which is good because these three qualities insure her continued life.

It's a marriage made in heaven... they all start off guised as 'disinterest'.
I am patiently awaiting the before + after photo...soon to follow

Happy Holiday*

I chortled in a most unlady-like manner at the sight of Cammie engaged in her cat-nip induced hysteria!

We've had Lupe for several months and no love connectiion has been made-good luck.

Poor Cammie. I hope she works out her "jealousy" issues. I am sure it's hard to find out you have to share attention with a DOG. Trux looks adorable!

They may or may not ever learn to love each other, but they will learn to tollerate each other with time though.

It took Frank and Marley a month or two to finally start being civil with each other (both boys) but in the end, now they cuddle with each other, and it's just the cutest thing! ♥

LOL! If only a cat would sit still long enough to watch a whole movie :) Cammie could sure benefit. Trux is quite the ham huh?

We had two cats, 16 and 6 years old, when we got our first puppy. It took almost 9 month until the cats accepted the dog. When we adopted our second dog, it was no problems at all.
Still, if our dogs gets "too much" for the cats, they swipe their noses and showing their teeth. But they get along well, most of the time so I´m sure that your Cammie and Trux will be friends one day!
They are both adorable!!!
