Miss America

Miss America, 1972

My sisters and I were deliriously happy with this gift!
A crown, a sash, a gown, a cape!

We all posed, individually, in front of this spectacular tree.

Wishing you much holiday delirium!

Hey sister!

Wish I had the photos of you, Cherise and Cherelle, too.

I need to steal Mom's photo album and scan all the pics!

Does she still have all the slides and projector? We need to get those turned into a DVD or something.

OMG...the slides!

I'll ask her when we're there for Christmas. I bet everything is in the attic...eep!

Yes, I was almost crowned at my birthday party last month but then my niece got excited and I let her wear it-I never got it back!

Nothin' quite like gold shag carpeting! I cropped the heck out of this picture so (for the most part) you're missing the sparkly popcorn ceiling...

What a magical Christmas that must have been! Looks like you and your sisters loved the Miss America ensemble enough to skip opening the rest of your gifts...
Have a very Merry Christmas!

I could use that crown now - I crave the chance to channel my "inner diva". You sure look pretty happy there.

I hope Santa brings you lots of toys tonight...

Nice! Spectacular is a great word for that tree ;) So...what was your acceptance speech?

BTW, love the holly in your hair in your profile pic :)

I KNEW I got robbed!!! I had the plastic up-do wig (that made your head sweat, but was a MUST HAVE) and my sister got the "mink" stole that rightfully, since I am older, should have been mine... at least first! The plastic pink high heels with the ever-so-comfortable-not elastic to hold them on (for the ten minutes and fiftytwo seconds before they broke, that is) were also highly coveted. Gads, thank you for helping all of that come flooding back... By the way, you make a DARLING Miss America!
