I think the same thing when people tell me I forgive too easily -- I don't forgive people for them, I forgive so I don't have to carry that anger around.

I love the fact that this portrait is a composite art form (mosaic photo fabric art). That so perfectly symbolizes the role of great men and women in human history. Each brings his or her bit of strength, wisdom and striving and adds it to the growing picture of our human tapestry.

Happy MLK Jr. Day and National Day of Service!

Yes, hate takes work...much better to love...which also may take work but the payoff is so much better.

I think that it is completely perfect that the man who stood up to fight for equality is celebrated just one day before a new man takes the helm to stand up and fight for hope. Considering they were, in reality, championing the exact same effort -- that all people have a chance at a better life, a great life, no matter who they are makes me understand that equality and hope at the exact same thing. Beautiful words and portrait.

Amen to that. The reality of it is that hatred is destructive, it increases suffering and misery. I choose love. Your blog makes ,me feel we live in the same bloggy neighborhood theme-wise. :-)

You've chosen a great quote and image. Thank you for honoring what MLK stood for.

I too love your blog. Can't wait to see more of what you have to offer. Oh, and among many things here, I love your clock. My kitchen clock is actually similar in motif. I searched high and low for it. I love the moon/star/sun stuff.

And thank you for coming by my blog and your comments.

Peace to you and yours,
Pagan
