Picture this

As a pendant necklace (rather than a ring) hanging on my neck!

Aimee from Jewelstreet was having a Pay it Forward giveaway on her blog and I'm one of the lucky recipients.  Aimee designed this fun piece for a jewelry challenge...and says she has more Alice in Wonderland ideas percolating.

I'll be paying it forward, too.
I've decided to pose the Mad Hatter's riddle to you:

“Why is a raven like a writing-desk?”

“Have you guessed the riddle yet?” the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.

“No, I give it up,” Alice replied: “what’s the answer?”

“I haven’t the slightest idea,” said the Hatter.

“Nor I,” said the March Hare.

Alice sighed wearily. “I think you might do something better with the time,” she said, “than waste it in asking riddles that have no answers.”

The answer I like the best will win a secret prize, with the agreement to pay it forward. Leave your answer in the comment section...you may enter as many times as you like, just make sure I have a way to contact you if you win. I'll draw the winner on the 14th.

I also want to give a SHOUT out to my friend Karen

Love the ring!

As for why is the raven like a writing-desk? First, I need to have a good cup of tea and then ponder that riddle over a game of flamingo croquet. But it will have to all wait as I am late for a very important date.

LOVE the irng you lucky mad hatter!
raven like a writing desk: you know i was addicted to lewis carrol when i was a kid---i don't think that riddle ever had an answer but as i imagine it, because the writing desk, if it's lucky, starts the beginnings of pretty little shiny scraps and the raven, if she's lucky, ends up with pretty little shiny scraps.

but how is a blog like a pigeon?

Because Poe wrote on both.

A raven and a writing desk are both kinda inky.

And a blog and a pigeon are full of the scraps of life.

Lucky you, thats an interesting ring/pendant.

Please do send it to Willow. Loved it!

Because they both make notes (although the raven makes harsh ones and the writing desk, one hopes, spawns elegant ones.)

"Why is a raven like a writing desk?" -because they both contain black scratchings. (at least mine does!!!)
