I'm a very lucky person.
I lived in Florence from 1972-5 in the days when all the museums were FREE on Sudays and you could just wander around all day drinking all the wonderful art in.
ps your new 'do' is so pretty

Oh, how lucky you are! We spent time in Italy (including Florence) a few years back. Mostly we stayed in a little resort town on the train line called Monticatini Termi. It is a traditional spa town (as in taking the spring waters) and Italians have been vacationing there since Roman times. We were practically the only Americans there -- lots of huge Italian families on holiday, Germans and a few Brits. We could take the train to Piza, the Mediterrean sea, Florence and Lucca for day trips. We then trained down for a stay in Rome.

Ah....Italy!

Diva,
Do enjoy it! Revel in the melodious sounds of Italian, the animated gestures of the shopkeepers and museum workers, the taste and smell of an espresso, ....my sister married a Florentine and has lived there for over 20 years. Perhaps that is why I migrated closer here in France. Alas, enjoy your planning and your trip!!
