Something new for me on Thursdays...
This week's theme is Glass

A glass brandy snifter filled with tiny keepsakes and topped with an antique metal clock face piece; a see through treasure chest.
This is my Georgia Jar, named after my friend Georgia who has glass jars filled with little bits and pieces all over her house; each one a feast for the eyes.

what a beautiful, unique way to display some vintage pieces!! i really like the simple, subtle look of this....
I have two dark blue ornaments like this left to me by my mother - Now I understand what I can do with them! Georgia jars! Thank you.
I like the idea of having a Theme Thursday (just caught a glimpse of Willow's on my updates list). I like the dark tones surrounding the glass and the the 'organised mess' in which the keepsakes are. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
Nice :D
I love things that amuse the eyes.
welcome to the game!!
wonderful contribution to the theme!
your brandy snifter is like a tiny little glass cabinet of curiosities...simply divine!
lovely blog.... I agree completely with you on the whole sleeve vs sleeveless bit!
I'm so glad you are doing Theme Thursday! It's so much fun!
I ADORE your keepsake jar. I must make one for myself. I am soooo into miniature keepsakes...all my little treasures. This is a fabulous way to display them!!
What a wonderful, wonderful idea! And I recognize the Hot tap--in my house growing up, all the sinks had a hot and a cold water tap, and you were supposed to mix it in the basin--rather awkward, but charming in theory!
Looks like a junk necklace in the works to me...is that an old rollerskate key??? FUN STUFF miss HOT...ha!
A rollerskate key......cool.....I had no idea!
What a fun idea to follow the Thursday theme - you've inspired me!
Hi there, is that a dove or a bird in the middle? At first glance it looked like something else.
It's a bird carved out of alabaster.
A marvelous idea and so pretty.
Have a great day.
Cathy
It's a post-modern, deconstructed vitrine!
That's awesome. I had a similar idea except to use the sea glass my daughter and I found. I think it would be neat in front of some sunny windows.
This is beautiful - I love the "lid" you used for it. Great idea.
Very cool idea! Eye-catching. I've come across jars all full of bits & bobs. Most hidden away in garages or basements. Never thought to use 'em like this.
What a lovely way to display special items and I like the cover. Keeps out the dust and pet fur (at least it would in my home with two dogs and a cat).
Great idea..such an eclectic mix and to think, I could find all that just by going through my house! I certainly could use that porcelain hot handle.
you have such amazing toys in your glass catch all. a treasure trove for sure. nice play on the theme!
Ha! Preventing blogger burnout - so cute! I love the idea of a glass jar filled with inspiring and interesting bits and pieces - those would be so fun to rummage through!
Thank you for the unique idea, I think I will start using it myself.
What a fab idea! I'm stealin' it, ASAP!
I like that jar filled with cool stuff. Nifty! I really like the idea of Theme Thursday also. Looking forward to seeing what you share for future themes :)
A vintage glass time capsule...I'm drooling!
{LUV} the idea...
Your creativity and ability to always keep it fresh rock :) Love the Georgia Jar and your new Thursday theme will be fun to follow along with :)
Wonderful idea, the Georgia Jar! I could really use that hot water handle!
Hey girlfriend!
Now THAT is one heck of a large brandy sifter! :) Love the inspiration....thanks for sharing. (now tell me where to get the brandy glass...LOL)
xo...deb
Love it! I do the same with all my nature treasures...shell, beach glass and the like...fun!
A treasure chest, indeed! What a great idea. I'm going to make some Georgia Jars!
Wow, that's cool. I think I'll start me one of those. That's so cool.
This is my first Theme Thursday as well, you did a great job!I need a keepsake jar with candy in it, now that's yummy. By the way, I love the name Georgia, fabulous
Oooh I like the Georgia jar...that's something to think about with all of my bits and bobs. Yay, a new meme-I'm cheering you on!
GREAT way to use a brandy glasses. I love those glasses but don't drink, so this is inspirational...
That is one of the best ideas to do with those glass jars that I have ever seen. I would never have thought of doing that.
I am with the others and think I want to steal that idea, with your permission of course.
Thank you so much for the feast.
Welcome to TT, I am having so much fun doing it with everyone too.
What a great idea. I am so totally going to rip you and your friend Georgia off and do this, too. Thanks for the inspiration!
ooooh,
this weekend I will go out and stimulate our economy and buy a couple of those brandy glasses and put things in them!
I have some nice pieces of sea glass for starters.
thanks for visiting me at Dog Girl.
I do love brandy...
I found the brandy snifter at Goodwill!
Hey, I see my skate key that I gave you for Christmas!!! I'm so happy that you're displaying it! It was in my garden next to my 1950s skates for ages... Yippeee. Great to see you in Portland today. Thanks for lunch... I'm still looking for the Mitford book. Baci, D
What a lovely idea! I saw the one willow put together & photographed for her blog today. I'll have to put on my thinking cap & see what I can come up with for a Lizzy keepsake. Thanks for the idea.
