I keep getting asked the question, "Will you go back (to Italy)?"
I would go back to Lucca, a charming walled town in Tuscany...somewhat undiscovered by tourists.
Compared to Florence, Pisa & Rome, these streets are virtually empty.
For someone who dislikes crowds...this was bliss.
Arches...can't get enough of them!
Flowers growing out of cracks in the wall along the canal...
And the color of this building...
We were only there for 3 hours...I could have stayed for days...

Ahhhh, I love this, the non-tourist patch, the lesser-known area. Many thanks for these lovely photos. It has a lot of character this little town.
Greetings from London.
Love the narrow alleyways and stone buildings.
The ancient history of this town just oozes from the dusky colors of the buildings and narrow pathways...you had the trip of a lifetime and I would go in an instant...that is after my ship comes in!
This looks just lovely! Only 3 hours? It must have been difficult to leave!
Oh yes, no crowds, perfection. And I love all of the old buildings, so much history and character.
i want to pack my bags tomorrow and go to a little place like this. Just looking at it makes me daydream:)
What a tease you are.... I can't decide what I love more, the architecture or the earthy, gorgeous colors~~~ How incredible. Can you still smell the air there, when you look at these pictures?

Just beautiful. My son did a semester of college in Italy. His brother and sister went to visit him and they all absolutely loved it. What an awesome little town!
Thank you for sharing, this is stunning. Thank you for letting me dream.
I love the daisy and bicycle shot too. You'll just have to go back! Three weeks, ideal, three months, even better!
I love Italy and if/when I go back, I'll definitely go to Lucca. These are beautiful photos....
Lucca sounds devine,Ms Diva. I have a little fantasy where I spend some months in Italy-off the beaten path. This location fits the vision perfectly.
The photographs are amazing! Thank you for sharing.

I have to make a note of this someplace, in the likelyhood I ever make it to Italy...I can dream, can't I?
What a beautiful place. I would love to go there and take my baby Lucca there with me ... just for the fun!
Mmmm...heavenly! I also dislike crowds so that gorgeous place looks like bliss to me :)
