When it works

I know items from the late 60's and early 70's are all the rage, but I normally don't care for them. I was raised in a sea of harvest gold and avocado green, polyester knits and shag carpeting.  I'm happy not to revisit that...but I do like this pendant grouping:

Ah yes, I know harvest gold well - I keep waiting for my circa 1977 kitchen tile to come back into style... In the meantime, I treat it as a neutral (with varying degrees of success) and just do my thing.

I'm so with ya there...ewwwwww...remember when we had those rakes to pull up our flattened shags...

My daughters old house was totally retro and I found her some of the most God awful lamps...not for me!!!

I'm not sure how I feel about bright brass finishes coming back either. Let's hope we don't go that far!

Lovely lamps!

I have a harvest gold fridge. It's older than I am but still works!
