Surf's Up

Artist John Pugh spent two months planning this mural in studio, and another six months painting it with the help of eleven other artists. It is located in Honolulu, Hawaii...not a bad place to spend half the year!

Featured are Queen Liliuokalani, the last Hawaiian queen, and Duke Kahanamoku, father of surfing. Even the stairs and sightseers are part of the mural.

Wowza! The wave I could obviously tell was faux, but the stairs and people I still thought were real after expanding the photo as large as it would go. This is insane!! Will look more into him, thanks!

Oo00--neat! I lived in Honolulu for a few years, but have been gone for about 7...i LOVED all the art work on the sides of buildings there, mostly done by Wylan. Thank you for sharing this!
