Bicycles aren't to comfy to ride over the cobbles, either. I've been catching up to your other posts and I may say, looks like you've had a grand time! Alas, I never did make the trip over from Sardinia. But get me exploring ruins ( anywhere )....
I'm not sure why I've always liked cobblestone (or brick) sidewalks and roadways... but I do. I especially love the way they seem to "resist" relatively modern innovations (wheeled suitcases, bicycles, high-heeled shoes, wheelchairs).

darn cobblestones. but they are so intriguing. happy tt!
Haha . . tell me about it, we wheeled wheelies around Melbourne for a day! Not easy and made us very obvious as tourists!
Oh...I'd take the bumps and tough wheeling just to be walking on the cobblestones..in Italy nonetheless!
And as we discovered to our cost a couple of years ago, wheel chairs don't go well either.
That must have been one heck of a racket! :)
Oh, gosh, I'll be sure to keep that in mind!
Lucky you weren't wearing stiletto heels as well! xv
Yeap cobbled streets and suitcases...not good indeed lol
