Temperatures will be hovering around 100 for the next few days.
I'm heading to the coast.
A cool getaway by the sea...
“The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea.”
We might see 80 degrees today, as we did yesterday, these are the perfect weather days, but we know they won't last...such an odd summer for the Midwest...and such a beautiful vision, the beach and the words...thanks!
The sea is always a great place to find relief from the heat -- but more so for me, to remind me of how much bigger this world is than my trivialities.
115F in the valley this week. I won't even look out the window; the heat waves are visible as far as the eye can see. Splash about for a fellow desert-dweller, will ya!
Did I mention how FABULOUS it is that between the coast and the desert there is The Valley? How lucky am I, that for once, I was in the 'right place at the right time'?! I'm so happy to have seen you Charmaine.... it's been too long, and our time to 'catch up' was too short. Hope the cushions are just as wonderful as you envisioned. My 'favorite chair' already has a calico occupant. ;-) xoxo Karen

ReplyDeleteJust what is needed during the long days of July - sand on the feet and ocean breeze on the face.
