Cheerful paint can do wonders to transform a room.
Next step: decoupaging maps onto the cabinet doors.
I also attended the White Elephant Sale; a fund raiser for the Oakland Museum. The line to get in was over 2 1/2 blocks long...this photo was taken as we neared the entrance.
An extremely well organized jumble sale.

Great color combo, Charmaine! I even like the door just left off.
Holy moly, what a difference! Looking good.
Color really does make a world of difference. The decoupage idea is a good one, I can't wait to see the outcome!
A White Elephant Sale! Now that is my kinda fun...Joe would be so un-excited about it.
Love the yellow...what a difference a colour makes, xv.
did you get any bargains? That kitchen looks lovely, what a great idea with the maps
: )
The Oakland Museum White Elephant sale is fantastic fun! I've picked up some great stuff there: my nightstand and a great set of Dorothy Thorpe vintage dishes (12 settings, 7 pieces each AND 2 serving bowls and cream and sugar for... $200! yeah it was missing a couple of pieces, so what?) to name a couple.
And, your friend's kitchen looks great!
Being a map girl, this is fab! I am collecting old school roller maps to use on my sun porch, only 7 more to go!

wow! how amazing is that! never underestimate a paintbrush and some good color! the maps are a great idea, too!
Nice :) always wonderful to see how paint changes a room.
welcome back. I see you decided that the maps are going on the cabs instead of the walls. Hope it turns out well.
I miss going to flea markets and such in California... if you know of any good ones in OR, please do tell!
;)
p.s. I love the tile in your friends kitchen, it goes so well with that soft teal color... yay for paint!
♥
Where were you in the Bay Area (I grew up in San Rafael)? Were you designing this from afar? Do tell us more.
Hi Donna,
I was in Oakland.
I've hyperlinked the post...there's a bit more detail there.
Oh my gosh that is one huge jumble sale! I'd have a ball there!
A very nice makeover too!
Holy cow! Night and day!
Did you buy anything cool at the sale?
