For the most part, I'm a little out of it when it comes to computers. I'm old enough not to have used a computer in either grade or high school. So all my computer learning has been rather hit and miss throughout the years.
In November of 2007 I discovered Etsy. Suddenly I'm using the computer daily: I have a virtual shop, I particpate in the Forums, and I blog for God's sake. The blogging has been an eye-opener for me....I actually like it! I'm thinking a 12-step program might be in order though....
Last week, a friend from my past life found me through my blog. We reconnected through cyberspace....how weird is that? Karen is an extremely talented artist. I'm trying to convince her to open an Etsy shop of her own. Check out her great blog & leave her some Etsy encouragement! A Musements If the triptych she made (her banner art) doesn't make you bow down in reverence....nothing will.
I'll leave you with an example of Karen's writing...to tie this all in:

Good point! Frankly I'm new to blogging and wasn't sure about the etiquette for comments. It's helpful for such things to be made fairly explicit when you're a newcomer! Thanks to both you and A Musements...

How far back in the day was that picture from. Looks like the very early 80's to me. My college days were hand and hand with the typewriter... do they still make them now?

Great post! I too have entered fully into the computer age thanks to my etsy shop and then my blog. Each baby step -- from learning to take good digital photos to copying and pasting html code -- is a victory, and I love learning new skills.

The first thing I have to note is that gal at the computer is using a 5-1/2" floppy (holy OLD!) lol

I admit, I'm terrible about commenting. I'm incredibly introverted in the rest of my life, though, and I think that probably explains it.
My first computer was an Apple IIgs, when I was 5. I've been a tech geek since babyhood, I suppose. :D
