I use this tray (acquired from my sister-in-law, Kathleen, at one of her fab sales) on my coffee table ottoman as a place to set drinks or anything else requiring a hard surface. I've been thinking about collaging over the top of the mirror because let's face it, a mirror on a horizontal surface is a dust magnet, and I do not clean as often as I should.
Years ago I was a collaging fool. Everyone I know received a collaged birthday card; I plastered pictures on old suitcases, and randomly covered surfaces I found wanting. I found a file of scraps I had saved from the formerly fabulous Victoria magazine, and some cancelled stamps from a recent Etsy purchase from Turkey and decided to attack the tray.
But first, a quick message to the Etsy forums: can I decoupage on a mirror, and do I put the Mod Podge on the surface first, or just slap it over the pictures? (My memory, sadly, is not what it used to be....) Answered within minutes (I love the forums) and started gluing.
Ok...so I forgot how hard it was to keep the bubbles out! I like it better...I think.
