Remodel-Camp Trailer

Ok, I know what you're thinking...a camp trailer? C'mon.
Seriously, I redo EVERYTHING.

I can't find the before pictures so you're going to have to trust me on how seriously hideous this was when we bought it. The windows had blue velour curtain panels with, I kid you not, brass trim. The upholstery; a Southwest-style-gone-wrong blue gray swirl in a heavy, scratchy fabric. Ugh. The fabrics I chose for curtains and upholstery: tropical, bright and fun.

The walls are some sort of plastic panelling. They were bright white with grey and blue splotches. I primed the walls and painted two coats of a cheerful lime green. Nothing like a little color to liven things up!

The cupboards above the bed had mirrors in the door. The splotchy looking mirrors with brass used as an accent. A friend of ours brought us back some woven placemats from Hawaii. We replaced the mirrors with the textured mats, and added real bamboo handles to the doors and drawers.

We sprayed the fake wood refrigerator panel with chalkboard paint. I usually keep a quote written there. (Although it's a favorite surface for our nieces' chalk-art when they visit.)

We ended up living in our 16' camp trailer when we remodeled the house last summer...a little too long is such a small space! But it did provide everything we needed: comfy bed, bathroom, kitchen and a table. We call this our guest cottage and use it for overnight guests. (Welcome friends and family!)

Your interior vision is something else. I envy your ability to see such great color and design in the ordinary.

That is really impressive. Who knew a camper could be so stylish. By your description of the before it sounds like you had your work cut out for you.
