To update an earlier post....
Our electrical panel box is in the dining room...placed off-center on a wall
We purchased a wool rug from Ikea to hang on the wall to cover the space:
Still not quite sure about this...so it's "auditioning" for the spot. I don't normally take up the whole width of the wall when decorating. I do like the colors, pattern and texture of the rug though...

I see you was at Ikea too!I love it to shopping there too!Have a nice day!
Jealous that you can shop at Ikea :) We don't have one in the Maritimes.
I think it looks much better than the panel. It works for an audition :)
(another idea? and just tossing them, delete the comment if you want to hit me haha)
What about covering JUST the panel with a funky fabric? Would it still close? I had a random cupboard built into a wall at an old apt that I did that with.
Otherwise, I do like the rug :)

Well, it definitely looks better than the electric panel.
I like that it's "auditioning" :)
Fits nice in the spot. Mark can fashion some sort of header rail (maybe it can be stained to match kitchen cabs?) and it will look nice and finished.
April...Ikea is a 4 hour drive from our house, but you're right, at least we can shop there! The only problem I have with just covering the panel box itself is that it's off-center...I could try counter-balancing it with something else, but that just doesn't feel right to me.
Michelle...Mark will definitely make a rod to hang it from....at some point. His shop is still not operational. :(
The rug is very pretty. And it's a definite improvement over the electrical panel. :)
That's a clever idea! What a strange place for an electrical panel! :D
The rug looks great! I meant to post yesterday on how beautiful your travel trailer looks!
Great idea with the rug! I like it, although I agree with you about taking up the whole width. Perhaps a smaller rug instead?

I'm looking forward to your photo tomorrow!
What is the white thing under the rug?? It looks like a cabinet door?? I like the rug, but not on the wall...how about in front of the door???hehehe but I do agree it is better than the electrical panel..It is definitely a problem spot..don't give up!!!
JOY!
How did the rug get on in its audition?
(I've passed an award on to you on my blog when you next visit)
: )

I have the rug hung over a standing mirror temporarily...it's still auditioning.
