This one smacks of arrogance...afterall, there have been people living in Central Oregon for thousands of years. So who really discovered the Crooked River?
And this one...well! Not that I want anything to happen to Fido, but the imagery...

Oh!! The dog sign leaves no room for misinterpretation, does it.... Yikes.
I always wonder about claims that someone "discovered" some natural feature too. Just how do you discover a mountain or a river? Perhaps in Antarctica in the early 20th century that claim could be made... That's the only place on Earth that people haven't been living for the past ten thousand years.
