Repurposed Furniture

The tiny upstairs of this cottage consisted of a stairwell, a narrow hallway, and a 9' x 10' bedroom. Two similar looking vintage sideboards were purchased, the legs were removed, and the pieces were then installed into the 4' tall attic wall.

A fairly simple solution for more easily accessible storage without taking up any floor space. The use of the vintage pieces also tied in charmingly with the era of the house - 1925.

Dear Diva,
What a great way to repurpose the buffet cabinets....you clever girl! Guess that's why YOU'RE the Diva! Never would have occured to me to do that kind of installation. Very smart use of space-saving, not to mention the 'rescue and reuse' of the beautiful buffets. Bravo!

This is exactly what we want to do with our bedroom! How cool! The bedroom in our new house is about 8x9-ish, so we'll have to make good use of the space... But, I think it'll actually be kind of cool adding built-ins to a 1920's house...
heheee.
