Rivets, Lattice & Trains

We ran away for a little while yesterday. Packed a picnic lunch and went to enjoy some of Central Oregon's breath-taking scenery.

The land on the South side of the gorge is now a State Park and is one of my favorite places to bring guests as it's only a 10 mile drive from our house. Oh how I wish our property was on the rim!

I can't even imagine building this bridge....look at all those rivets!

Impressive looking place! I don't think I'd be all that comfortable living on the rim of that gorge though. No doubt you're a bigger thrill-seeker than I ;)

I'm afraid of heights...

Excuse me... I am glad you don't live on the rim, and don't stand too close!!!
Hugs!

This is my husband's idea of beauty. I love it too, but he really gravitates towards frameworks and linear constructions. Hmmm. You're making a compelling argument to come visit Oregon when we plan our eventual cross-country trip.

That is an awesome view!

Bridges always amaze me. There's something about the way they're made and the way they look.

We drove over this bridge and stopped to check it out on our way from San Diego to Washington, where we live temporarily. (thank God) Your pictures are really awesome, but I think standing there, and looking down is quite breathtaking, and gives a feeling that is so difficult to capture in a photo, don't you think?!! Very cool post! And this is only one argument for visiting Oregon, which is a spectacular state for so many reasons. Why did we move to Eastern Washington, again? Blech.

You're right...my photos do not do it justice. It is one of my favorite views...ever.
