Tracks

With a yard full of fresh plants, I wasn't too happy to see a horse in the backyard as I was getting my coffee the other morning. By the time I woke up my husband, there were two horses in the yard. Evidently, the fence across the street where they live is easy to escape from. We are now keeping our gate closed all the time which is, frankly, a pain in the ass.

Not surprisingly, we found horse tracks on the road in front of our house as we went for a walk the other night

tracks of a different sort

and these....any clue as to what kind of tracks these are?

(They're deer tracks....we have a plethora of deer here...)

Are the bottom ones elk, perhaps?

pronghorn antelope? It's in your area and I'm such a nerd to research this out, but I love a mystery: http://cahe.nmsu.edu/pubs/_circulars/circ561.html

Elk? Moose? I think probably and elk.

Where was this photo of horse hoof print when I was making my wilderness adventure bingo!?

Oohh, it's like a Nancy Drew mystery!

I haven't a clue, but I wish you lots of fun solving this!

It's a Yeti print. I know this because I have the same tracks around my house. I've seen the Yeti. Yours is an unusual Yeti because it appears to have only one leg. Mine leaves pairs of prints. Yup. Yeti. Problem solved :)

In your neck of the woods I would guess antelope. The tractor tracks look cool.

great pictures as always. I always love finding prints in the dirt and figuring out where they came from.

Bottom one is elk or deer or some sort of animal like that.

I'm with Fog and Thistle... I think the 'other track' is antelope. (Picture the poop, next time....) Anyway, why are there horses running loose getting into your schtuff?! I'm confused-- I mean even beyond the usual ;-)
Remember, poop picture next time. Easier to i.d.

And me thinks Tracy needs to lay off the Vegamite or something...
Yeti and all that. As if. Now if she'd referenced the Loch Ness Monster, she might be onto something.

The horse one is a perfect horse shoe; maybe finding it will bring you good luck. The last one...haven't a clue. Let us know if you find out...

The last one looks like one of our local mule deer tracks :) We have those all over our yard. They love plants of all varieties--especially the store bought kind ;)
