Garden retreat

I have these images saved from an old issue of Cottage Living

I like the idea of turning a garage into a garden retreat/guest cottage...because, really, how many garages are used as giant storage areas rather than a place to park vehicles?

A little inspiration to go through your things. If you haven't used it within the last year...do you really need it? Donate. And create a beautiful, relaxing spot instead.

What a neat idea..You are right about not using things..I have a bad habit of being a pack rat..

Love the concept! Doesn't work as well with an attached garage, however, so I guess I'm "stuck" dreaming of a studio/shed!

HA! I love it. I LOVE it! I have two extra sheds, that if we took the time to clear them out would be perfect for this. Look out neighbours we're having a free yardsale!

AHHHH! I'm so excited! Thansk for this!!!

Very cute! I have to hide these pictures from my mom. She's been trying for years to get me to move down to Virginia and live in her garage by fluffing it up and calling it my own personal art studio. I'd have no excuses after she saw these awesomely creative pics.

We have a large detached garage 150yard up the drive from the house and I have always had dreams of turning it into a guest house! This is so inspiring!

Interesting concept, though majority of the people dont have garages, just open porch. Happy weekend ;)

Great idea! Much nicer than an epoxy floor, concrete walls & a bunch of boxes of junk everywhere :) Clean, simple and elegant :)

I'm game, now if only I could convince hubby to give up the garage!

I'm sending this link to my friend and her husband whom I visited yesterday and who's 3 car garage is filled to the nines with STUFF most of it junk. They just got a dumpster delivered so they can clean it out (have been in their home for a year and a half and I've already helped them now twice to PURGE, and yesterday was no exception!)

Yes I'm getting rid of all my stuff. ALL OF IT! I'm moving in September & I've decided I'm going to live a very zen like existence & just keep the essentials. I'm sure I'll regret it later, but I'm very keen to do this right now.

Ah, the serenity...

This is gorgeous! Now I wish I had a shed overflowing with stuff to get rid of, just so I could use the inspiration....

Oh, yes, this would certainly be the way to go, if our garage was larger, and didn't face a fairly active street.

Funny, it's very common for folks round here to set a spell on a lawn chair in their garages (we have no idea what the appeal is...) It's like the new "front porch" seeing as many of the home here don't have a front porch...
