Mantelscape

One of my favorite mantelscapes...

My sister-in-law, Nancy, gets it just right...
the mix of colors, textures, interesting objects...

love it!
She also has this monogrammed doorknob on display...I adore decorative hardware.

mantel, n. 1. a construction framing the opening of a fireplace. 2. a shelf above a fireplace opening.

mantle, n. 1. a loose, sleeveless cloak. 2. something that covers or conceals.

Is it possible to have a family resemblance thru decorating even when it's not a blood relative? I can see why you love her work so.

Beautiful, the feathers are a perfect addition bringing a softened texture as well as height. LOVE it!

Gorgeous!

When I try and do the same thing it just looks like clutter. Maybe it's the Bionicles?

Great display! My Mom always picks great pieces for her mantel also. I remember her "making" the mantel when I was little. She had a huge piece of wood and she beat it with a piece of chain and stained it. I'll have to get a picture someday.

Hi I just found your blog via M-9lanie and love it. Several months back I posted about the spelling of mantel -- and boy did I get mail! Good luck on your web site. I'll be back to check it out.
