A piece of America

Tea & Honey Bread's Shutter Click and Chat: "I think we need to take this party to the Inaugural Ball-Show me a piece of your America. I'll take the good, the bad and the ugly. Hmm..."

"Let the word go forth from this time and place, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans."

~ President John F. Kennedy spoke these words in 1961,
the year of Barack Obama's birth.

The red chair looks uber-comfy and lovely - no wonder the cat has chosen it as a favorite spot.

Re the inauguration - I don't think I've been so ecited for something for AGES.
I will be glued to the TV -as will almost all of us I think.

Their choice of interior decorator seems sensible -if not really thrilling. (They do have to face all sorts of critics)
Yes, I hope they incorporate good, reasonably priced American design - and keep it comfortable and family friendly.
Like the rest of the US, I can't wait to see whatever puppy they get - presumably not as cool as Trux - but will be cute anyway!

Wow that video gave me chills and actually got me a little teary eyed at parts like the Challenger explosion and the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is odd how we remember just where we were when certain things occured in the past. Congrats on your 100th follower, an uplifting occassion for sure :)

So, I'm about an hour and a half away from the Inauguration festivities. If only I were brave enough to make that trek with the kids. It's going to be flipping FREEZING there too. I loved your post with the family room of the white house... kinda diggin' Clinton's vibe the best.
