Love that pillow on the red velver chair and the yellow shadow behind the table statue.--and the clock reflection in the mirror. Very nice...what kind of camera do you use?
That pillow looks like some with a backgroundd in ergonomic engineering and interior fashion designed it -- perfect for nestling into just the right spot!
I made a pattern (ok...my friend Jan made the pattern, ahem...and sewed it for me) of a vintage pillow I bought at the Pasadena City College Flea Market.
First, I get as much as possible off with my hands, then I roll, roll, roll. This chair is in the living room, so it rarely (besides Cammie) gets used.
Back in the day, my Mother read in Good Housekeeping Magazine, that a home must always have a red chair...it commands a focal point and brightens any drab space...I have a red velvet chair too!
Just a tip - if you need to get cat (or Trux) hair off something, pronto, a length of clear packing tape will pick it right up - sticky enough to grab the fur, but gentle enough to leave the fabric nap alone.
I love the chair. I need a throne like Cammie's. And, I agree with Sweet Repose, we had a red chair in the house growing up...even amidst all of the mustards and olives (gotta love the 70s)-that red chair made the room feel regal.
For the very life of me, I don't know how I stumbled onto your blog. From the sidebar of a sidebar of a sidebar I think, but can't recall who. However ... I am so glad I did. I've gone way back looking at your posts. I enjoy your photos of the high desert we share, I enjoy looking at how you transformed your home .. and you dog is precious.
The statue is a ladies golf trophy from the 1930's. I have another shot of her in this post: http://etsyhighdesertdiva.blogspot.com/2008/08/art-cabin.html
I love the composition of this photograph along with the shadows. I participated in Shadow Shots for the first time at Sacred Ruminations this past Sunday. Hugs and blessings,

I love how floppy the old pillow is...
What kind of cat would she be if she didn't have great taste?
