Red chair

Our cat, Cammie, prefers the red velvet chair...of course she does.
A shadow shot sans cat...

Love that pillow on the red velver chair and the yellow shadow behind the table statue.--and the clock reflection in the mirror. Very nice...what kind of camera do you use?

Thanks Cynthia.

I have a 5 or 6 year old cheap Cannon digital. I tweaked this photo in Flickr Picnik.

What a lovely corner. How about a good book and a spot of tea?

That pillow looks like some with a backgroundd in ergonomic engineering and interior fashion designed it -- perfect for nestling into just the right spot!

I've kinda gone a bit nuts about this post, and I don't know why... help me out anyone?

Dave,

It's probably the trophy. She has that effect on everyone.

Very nice shadow just like the first commentor said..That is one cosy spot..LOVE that red chair and that pillow is awesome!!

Glad everyone likes the pillow.

I made a pattern (ok...my friend Jan made the pattern, ahem...and sewed it for me) of a vintage pillow I bought at the Pasadena City College Flea Market.

Gorgeous chair -- how in the heck do you get the cat hair off it?

High Desert Diva said...

First, I get as much as possible off with my hands, then I roll, roll, roll. This chair is in the living room, so it rarely (besides Cammie) gets used.

Back in the day, my Mother read in Good Housekeeping Magazine, that a home must always have a red chair...it commands a focal point and brightens any drab space...I have a red velvet chair too!

Have a warm day girl!

That is a chair after my own heart.

Just a tip - if you need to get cat (or Trux) hair off something, pronto, a length of clear packing tape will pick it right up - sticky enough to grab the fur, but gentle enough to leave the fabric nap alone.

Oh that is a beautiful photo!

Oh how lush! I adore that chair and the very cool shaped pillow!

Looks great! LOVE that chair, no shock Cammie does too :) Think of it this way, at least her fur isn't white :)

The chair is stunning. The shadow from the statue is amazing. I can see why Cammie likes this room!

I love the chair. I need a throne like Cammie's. And, I agree with Sweet Repose, we had a red chair in the house growing up...even amidst all of the mustards and olives (gotta love the 70s)-that red chair made the room feel regal.

For the very life of me, I don't know how I stumbled onto your blog. From the sidebar of a sidebar of a sidebar I think, but can't recall who. However ... I am so glad I did. I've gone way back looking at your posts. I enjoy your photos of the high desert we share, I enjoy looking at how you transformed your home .. and you dog is precious.

The statue is a ladies golf trophy from the 1930's. I have another shot of her in this post: http://etsyhighdesertdiva.blogspot.com/2008/08/art-cabin.html

This link shows the vintage pillow used as a pattern for the pillow on the red chair:
