Estella from Star of the East featured our bedroom in a new series on her blog today. A peek into various sleeping rooms...see the post here.

On February 14, 1859, President James Buchanan signed a bill that admitted the 33rd state into the union, Oregon.

In the grand scheme of things, the United States is very young, the western states even more so.
There will be celebratory events across the state throughout the year, but I thought I'd post a couple today in case anyone in Oregon wants to take their sweetie to a ball for Valentine's Day....a little time to prepare.
Both images from Oregon 150

Funny...I am related to James Buchanan!
One day I'll get to Oregon. It sounds so interesting and very different from New York.
What a fun thing to do..Really different..
I love the word 'soiree'...I can hear it spoken with a western cowboy drawl.
Hope you and Mark have recovered and hope your porcelain Goddess wasn't as cold as mine...ha!
I knew that was your room as soon as the picture scrolled into view. You love saturated colors & a look that is both streamlined & lush ( a neat trick!). Lovely interior.
I hope you are going to kick up your heels for Oregon!
I also knew that was room without having to read your name! You have a wonderful sense of style!
I love the embellishments on the curtains - lovely!
Happy birthday to Oregon, one of my absolute favourite states!!
Enjoyed those posters and, I too, love the word "soiree." I try to fit it in whenever I can (especially if I can't fit the actual soiree in!).
Thank you for the link. I really enjoyed her photos and especially YOUR bedroom. AHHHHHH. Your site and use of color is so good for my spirit. I MUST have color. My personal motto is:
"Life is too short for beige."
And thank you for continuing to drop in. :)
Girrrl, you have a chandelier over your bed!!
I do. It is very cool.
Your bedroom is amazing! (I'd be ashamed to show you mine!) As for James Buchanan, nice to see something positive written about him, as before 'ol W came along, most historians regarded J.B. as our worst president ever. He hails from my county, and I have visited and toured his lovely historic home many times. Reading a positive nod to him makes me feel better!
Nice bedroom, nice feature! Happy Birthday to us in Oregon, yay!
Gorgeous bedroom, Charmaine. Mine is probably the one room of the house I never show-I'm weird that way...my shack d'amor is private! :D
Sesquicentennial-what a beautiful word, I wish I had more reasons to use it!
Happy Birthday Orry-Gone! I'm gonna have 150 drinks in your honor!
Happy Valentine's Day, Charmaine! and Happy Birthday, Oregon! Love your new/old drapes, btw.
Bedroom is gorgeous! The parties look fun. Life is good!!!
Your bedroom is gorgeous! And a great big happy birthday to Oregon! You know, it's funny because the State that I live in (Queensland) is also celebrating 150 years of becoming an independent State this year. We turn 150 years old in December, but we've started the celebrations already. We like to stretch them out :)
