Beauty everywhere

Hey Harriet hosts Shadow Shots...every weekend from Australia.  This is the 39th week I've participated...shadow shooting is addicting.  Once you start, you'll see shadows everywhere!

Cloud shadows, Terrebonne, Oregon
(yep...more shots out the car window...I wasn't driving)

~~~~~~~~~
The winner of my Pay it Forward Giveaway is Willow
The riddle:  “Why is a raven like a writing-desk?”
Her answer ~ Because Poe wrote on both.
I had intended the prize to be a vintage copy of
The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
As I was scanning my bookshelf for it, however, I came across this:
Note the bottom line:  Decorated by Will H-Low
Obviously, Willow needed this book instead.
I also quite liked Deb's answer: Because the writing desk, if it's lucky, starts the beginnings of pretty little shiny scraps and the raven, if she's lucky, ends up with pretty little shiny scraps.
So I'm going to send something shiny to Deb.
~~~~~~

Happy Valentine's Day!

“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.”

~ Oscar Wilde

aww wow..really? i was just coming over to send you a happy v day valentine! and now i find out i'm going to receive something shiny?

THANK YOU!!!

I actually looked up a little about that riddle after your post and it seems even lewis carrol didn't have an answer when he originally wrote it... although later he was moved to write this:
'Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!'

Willow TOTALLY deserves this, and don't get me wrong Willow: it WOULD seem this book was meant to go to you. But, as an antique/vintage book collector, I am struggling to be a gracious loser! :) Enjoy and congratulations! It's beautiful! Thanks for the contest DD.

Good morning Diva,
It's about time I finally flew over to your fab blog, thanks to willow's recommendation.

I see you live somewhere way out west in Oregon. I am currently reading a book that takes place in your neck of the woods. It's called The Last Good Kiss.

I will come by and see you again soon. Right now the grandbaby is trying to climb onto my shoulders. Must...pull...him...off...

DD, The Terrebonne Oregon shots are lovely; similar to the landscape where I live in Australia, except that we have large Gums thrown in. Thanks for putting the Bushfire Appeal up on your page.

Congratulations, Willow, another exquisite book in your collection.
