I guess we both have a thang for night shadows...love the colors of shadow at night!
I love the bright colors and darkness at the same time.
Wow, that's pretty! I love the colours in your shadow shots :)
Ur office is so colorful that give your shadow a dramatic touché.GORGEOUS!
When you're ready for gardening, here are the most highly deer resistant/colorful flowers for your garden: ageratum, vinca, buttercup, catnip, foxglove, daffodil, nicotiana, forget-me-not, lamb's ear, allium, sweet alyssum, coreopsis, snapdragon, calendula and globe thistle. My mom solved her rabbit problem by putting carrots out for them! Spring is almost here!
GW-I thought I had the deer problem figured out. Your list of plants is very similar to what I had in my valley garden. There were about 5 deer who visited almost daily. When we moved here, and I began landscaping I thought: no problem. I've dealt with deer for years. I know what to plant and what not to plant. $1000 in plants....they've nibbled on all but one of them! The desert deer eat EVERYTHING!
wow..what a shot, it looks so fantastic and beautiful :D
All of your shots are so mystical, they remind me of movie sets every week. :) Gorgeous!
Topic #1 -- The shot is lovely! So often we think of shadow shots in B&W, but I love the colors!Topic #2 -- DEER!! Yes, we struggle with them, too. I have been told if they are hungry enough they will eat ANYTHING, includes items on the deer-do-not-eat list....
Swooned over the photo today. And I'm wild for shadows on color. Your office must be quite a sanctuary for the mind. Thanks so MUCH for dropping by "my place" and for your kind comments. Hope to see you again and I'm following you now. I think I need a daily dose of your lovely inspiration in a variety of mediums.
Hmmm - what about cactus? ;-)
Yep...cactus is definitely a front runner.
I love what light does, its like magic! :)
Love the mix of shadow and rich color!
Your office space must be very inspirational - it's beautiful!Around here to help control deer nibbling, people soak habanero peppers in water and then make a spray out of it and spray plants, trees etc to keep the deer away. All natural - just spray downwind...
Rachel,Thanks!and thanks for the habanero trick. We tried that last summer. Problem was, our sprinkler system. Every morning all that water would just wash the juice away. We eventually gave up!
I think that's the pertiest one I've seen you do so far. :)
Color in shadow...how clever, Charmaine!
Those wonderful rich and bold colours are both alive and soothing. And the hint of shadow as if on the wind is magical!
What a beautiful shot..vey interesting and love the colors.Happy SSS..
The beautiful painting is certainly enhanced by the evening shadows - I love it.We don't have deer problems in our part of the world, although there are a couple which wander around, nearly causing accidents as drivers gape, unable to believe their eyes. You mentioned that they nibbled on every plant except one. I'd be rushing out buying in stacks of that variety!
Such vibrant colours!
Oh how pretty! Beautiful shot!
What a beautiful corner..reminds me of Van Gogh with all the yellow! :D

What wonderful, dramatic colors... and amazing shadows. Lovely.
My mouth waters every time I get a glimpse of your office!
I've always loved the color combination of purple and yellow. This is such a cool photo. It's so simple yet there is so much going on in it and so much to figure out. Some of it is hard to tell. The yellow leaves look, at times, to be painted on the purple vase; like the one in the middle. Stunning, Diva!
Wonderful shadow shot!
Those are some fabulous colors, ma'am. I love the whoe effect, like a painting within a painting.Happy SSS!
Wonderfully vibrant colors!
