Oh la la

Last week, Mark and I discovered Royal T, a charming antique/home decor store in Bend.  I'd been thinking about these velvet drapes ever since. Yesterday, I met the owner of the store to look them over again and they came home with me. They are from Paris, turn of the 20th century. I adore them.

I decided to use them to hide the utilitarian shower stall in the master bath. I have them hung over the stall to see how they'll look. Mark has figured out a way to create a bar with rings to hang the drapes from so they'll be easy to slide allowing entry to the glass door. Have I mentioned lately how handy it is to be married to an artist blacksmith?

Let me know if you're interested in purchasing the remaining pieces to this beautiful set.  I have two more drapes (11' long by 4' wide), two valances (76" x 24" and 137" x 24"), and a 70" x 70" square piece...all with that gorgeous detailing.

I am green with envy!! So absolutely gorgeous. When you're tired of them, just box them up and send them to the manor!

Absolument exquis!!! Good for you for stimulating the economy. Now, can Mark find a way to keep the moisture from damaging the velvet fabric? Grosses Bises! (Big Kisses)

I'm only slightly concerned about moisture. We have a good fan, and there isn't a door on the bathroom so circulation is quite good.

The shower stall will protect the fabric from getting directly wet....we'll see....all in the name of beauty you know!

Ooh what an elegant addition to the master bathroom! The two of you together, with Mark's amazing metal skills and your sophisticated eye, are an amazing team! Can't wait to see what he comes up with.
