there's something so much more special in a walk. :-)

Wait, is this where you live??? Our mailbox is about a mile there and back too. I don't think our scenery is this pretty though.

Yep...that's our place.

What happened to your bike? Trux would love running along beside you.

Unless you stacked your bike? I'm thinking you have. There's been no mention of it for a while ;)

I haven't ridden the bike since we adopted Trux. He would love to run...I couldn't ride and hold the leash though...not sure about him being off leash.

For a mile walk to the mailbox and NO NEIGHBORS...I would gladly trade off the 'Pink Chateau' and the view of the mountain at the end of the road...spectacular!!!

What kind of evergreen are they around you, are there several species?

This is the way that my last home in Florida was, dead-end road surrounded by wetlands...very creepy at night when the lights went out though...you know, the swamp creatures...to many sci-fi movies methinks! Ha!

Oh...we have neighbors. But we all have 5 acre pieces of property.

All the trees (I'd say within a 20 mile radius) are juniper.

Happy Trux!
But what I'm drooling over is the lush garden below!
too cold here!

I like how your house looks like it's set back in time, "in the wilderness". It looks like you could shoot a western there! Lovely!

What a fabulous walk! Our big mailbox is up at the road, but it's only about a half mile up and back.

What a difference in where you used to live - both are beautiful. Trux is a lucky dog.

Wow! I can't imagine having to go that far to get to the mailbox. I am such a suburban girl. To me the mailbox is a quick shuffle out and back; slippers welcome!

Lovely photos of gorgeous scenery; thanks for sharing a part of your day. : )

I'm living vicariously through your verdant green! I am enjoying the snow with frozen toes and dreams of spring.

Nothing nicer than pretty blue sky Oregon days like this...I can just smell the pine needles looking at them!

Hello,

I really enjoy your blog. I love where you live now
and fully understand the difference in gardening
abilities between Silverton and the high desert.

Your homes siting is beautiful.

Greenery uninterrupted...it's breathtaking. The only plus to come out of the waning economoy is building has slowed here in AZ. Perhaps there will be some trees left for me.

I am with Cecile, my mailbox is in my lobby just 2 floors down and not only do I go in slippers, frequently its pajamas too lol. Perhaps that is why I am no longer in shape...hmmm...something to ponder :)

Linda Sue...we do!

What a happy daily event! Trux is a most lucky doggie...and the fresh air and exercise must revitalize you Charmaine. I would so love the chore of picking up the mail, if I lived there. Lucky Trux- AND Lucky you!
