The third photo top to bottom has so much character and personality in it. At first I thought they were posing, but no, they appear to be casually waiting for something to happen. What will that 'something' be? That's the magic of photography, we capture the moment, but we leave it to the imagination the before and after.
Many thanks, I didn't know who this photographer was.
How ironic, I waas going to do a post on Helen and then saw your blog in my reader. You will not believe what living photographer has an etsy shop. I did a post on him instead.

Greetings from London.
I heard Levitt interviewed on NPR the other day. Her photos are wonderful.
Yes, I heard that interview too...so nice to see some of her work here!
Wonderful photographer. I had seen her work before. A Master!

So very very New York. Thanks for introducing me, I'd never heard of her until now.
I love the photo of the masked kids.
Those are great! Sorry I missed the NPR interview....
The stoops of New York are well portrayed in this collection. I'm not familiar with her work, but they are superb.
Beautiful and stunning work. Great post.
I hadn't heard of this photographer before. Thanks for the intro. I like the images that you've posted!
bye bye helen, we artlout love you
Amazing, wonderful pictures. I have some amazing pictures of my husband's grandparents in the flapper days.
I'd post them but part of me wants to keep them to myself.
I like your blog a lot. Have a nice time in Italy.
