Landscaping...still

“Our way is not soft grass, it's a mountain path with lots of rocks. But it goes upwards, forward, toward the sun.”

~ Ruth Westheimer

Progress with rocks

The beds are now edged with small lava rock...
hopefully, this will keep the gravel in place.

“If you see a whole thing - it seems that it's always beautiful. Planets, lives... But up close a world's all dirt and rocks."

~ Ursula K. LeGuin

How exciting...it's always lovely to see work in progress..and where are those flowers? Are you worried the bunnies will chomp them away...

I hope all the ancient lava beds are inactive...ha...what a fun project and the look is wonderful. The job of beautifying one's space never ends, but the joy it brings is magical, you become part of your little piece of paradise.

I don't know about you, but my mind's eye knows every inch of my space and every blade of grass in my little world...

M. Kate-still a bit early in the season here to be planting anything. Temps are still dropping down below freezing. Maybe in May sometime....

It is taking shape beautifully! I love how the rocks define the walkway and circle the little tree - once the green sets in, all your hard work will be rewarded.

I love the dirt and rocks quote! You are making nice progress--it's always great to use materials right at hand.

Love your rocks, my rocks, pretty much all rocks. Always seem to have a rock in pocket of what ever I'm wearing. My grands have picked up the habit of packing a few special rocks in their pockets as well, much to the chagrin of their parents, and their washing mashines.
